All our properties that we rent as short-let have AL Licences (Licenca de alojamento local) unless there's an exception for that specific property.

In Portugal, to operate a Short-Term Rental (STR), you must obtain a license and adhere to government regulations. These regulations encompass various aspects, including health and safety compliance and tax payments. One crucial requirement is to provide guest information to the border control agency (SEF). It's important to note that these rules apply not only to STRs but also to hotels and hostels, essentially any form of holiday accommodation.

For more detailed information, please refer to this link:

You can share the online registration link with the other guests, or if you prefer, we can also scan your passports during the check-in process to ensure compliance with these regulations.

If the places where you've stayed did not adhere to these rules, it could be because they are not operating as legalized businesses.

Hope the above information clarifies the requirements for Short-Term Rentals in Portugal. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out. I’m here to help.
