Lisbon - All tourists in Lisbon over the age of 13 are subject to this fee, which is paid per guest per night, with a limit of seven nights (if you stay more than seven nights, you only have to pay for the first seven). The value is €2. Exemptions include anyone under 13 years of age and guests who are travelling for health reasons, such as a medical procedure or consultation. In this case, the accompanying person is also entitled to the exemption, and to request it you must present proof of the medical act.
Cascais - Similarly to Lisbon, in Cascais children under 13 do not pay the fee, but all other tourists do. The fee is €2 up to a limit of seven consecutive nights.
All our short-term rental properties are licensed with AL (Alojamento Local) licenses, ensuring compliance with local regulations, unless there are specific exceptions for certain properties.
39053/AL, 39047/AL, 32453/AL, 61638/AL, 80878/AL, 18156/AL
In Portugal, to operate a Short-Term Rental (STR), you must obtain a license and adhere to government regulations. These regulations encompass various aspects, including health and safety compliance and tax payments. One crucial requirement is to provide guest information to the border control agency (SEF). It's important to note that these rules apply not only to STRs but also to hotels and hostels, essentially any form of holiday accommodation.
For more detailed information, please refer to this link:
https://www.alesclarecimentos.pt/travelers/
You can share the online registration link with the other guests, or if you prefer, we can also scan your passports during the check-in process to ensure compliance with these regulations.
If the places where you've stayed did not adhere to these rules, it could be because they are not operating as legalized businesses.
Hope the above information clarifies the requirements for Short-Term Rentals in Portugal. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.
